The complete arc

The Seeker

45 weeks · Seeker to summit

Earliest, rawest, highest ceiling. The complete arc: identity and agency, narrative, leadership, finance, and culture, from the foundation up to a founder an investor can back. You may arrive with little more than conviction. You leave built.

What places you here

You do not need a company. You need the fire.

The Seeker is the one tier with no prerequisite markers. Foundry is founder incubation, not company incubation, so you are not screened on traction, revenue, or a product. What the application looks for is raw material worth building: agency, conviction, and the willingness to be challenged. Everyone who applies is eligible for at least The Seeker.

  • You are high agency, or ready to become so, and you move.
  • You have conviction: a problem you cannot not work on, even if the idea is still forming.
  • You may have no validated idea, no structure, no team, no narrative yet, and that is expected.
  • You are building for real, not collecting another program.
  • You want the truth more than the comfort, and will be coached candidly.

How placement works

The application measures you across Foundry's investor-grade markers. If you already demonstrate the behavioral base, you may be placed higher, into The Builder. If you already have real commercial traction too, into The Sovereign.

The Seeker is the honest start for the founder who is beginning from the base. It has the highest ceiling precisely because it builds all three dimensions from raw potential.

Same summit, longest climb. You reach the same certificate as every tier.

What you build

Forty-five weeks: the founder first, then the venture, then the raise.

You run all three stages in sequence. It opens with the deepest work Foundry does, the Seeker stage, which builds the founder-as-person and the base every downstream stage depends on. This is where identity, agency, and fluency are forged.

Seeker · Movement I · Identity and Agency

Who you are beneath the performance

Foundry's first principle. The through-line trained from week one.
Founder identity
Motivations, saboteurs, and resilience: the identity vetting turned inward and developed.
Bias to action
Agency over over-planning; every week ends in a real move. Trained, not discussed.
Zero to one
Separate the first idea from the real one, and find the problem you cannot not work on.
Operating judgment
The reasoning behind the documents, so you are never cargo-culting a template.
Seeker · Movement II · Structure and Fluency

The underpinning a venture stands on

Not provided for you, but built into you, so you are never the least-informed person at the table.
Capital strategy
What your stage actually needs, non-dilutive before dilutive, and the discipline not to raise early.
Instruments and terms
Fluency in SAFEs, notes, priced rounds, dilution, and cap tables.
Legal structure and the core asset
Entity choice, what to demand of counsel, and what is actually defensible.
Capital-efficient building
Resourcefulness: securing credits independently and building lean, with no hand-outs.
Seeker · Movement III · People and Rhythm

The company you will be worth joining

The relationships and the environment that make a founder effective.
Co-founder alignment
Roles, equity-split psychology, and the hard conversations held before they fracture the company.
The build standard
The judgment to know what good looks like and to hold a team to it.
Working rhythm and environment
Build the daily rhythm and network density that make you effective, wherever you are.
The pod
A founder pod and community selected for agency, not open-enrolled.

Then Builder, then the summit: weeks 16 to 45

With the foundation and identity built, you carry the same momentum into Builder, turning conviction into real commercial traction, then into the Sovereign summit, the fundable narrative, the raise, the boardroom, and the certificate gate. The same two stages every other tier runs, now standing on a base that is entirely yours.

Who you are when you finish

From raw potential to a founder an investor can back.

The Seeker is the only tier that builds all three investor-grade dimensions from the base. The first, forged in the Seeker stage, is Behavioral Mechanics and High Agency, the through-line that makes everything after it possible. These are the markers an investor reads in the first ten minutes.

Rate of iteration
You close feedback loops in days, not weeks.
Information density
You speak in metrics and structure, not fluff.
Earned insight
Non-obvious knowledge from your own primary research.
High-agency problem solving
You route around roadblocks without waiting for permission.
Defensive clarity
You take hard pushback as a free optimization.
Extreme coachability
You discard bad plans fast, with no ego.

From there you go on to build Commercial Execution and Capital Trajectory like every tier, and finish where they all finish: the Foundry certificate, conferred by Ethan Starke on demonstrated execution. The longest climb, the largest transformation.

Some founders need fire. Come get built.

Start with a conversation, or go straight to the application when it opens. Placement is decided on evidence, and everyone is eligible for The Seeker.

One method, one bench, one monthly rhythm. You are placed by readiness, not by price.
