The momentum tier

The Builder

30 weeks · Builder, then the summit

For the founder who has a foundation and conviction but no durable momentum. We build the founder and the venture's spine together, the model, your leadership, your financial fluency, and the culture the company will run on, straight through to fundable.

What places you here

The founder-as-person is there. The venture is not, yet.

Your placement is decided by the application, on evidence. The Builder is for founders who already demonstrate the behavioral base, high agency and coachability, but have not yet built durable commercial execution: real customers, revenue, and a company an investor can inspect.

  • You move. You iterate fast, take pushback well, and end weeks with real progress, not plans.
  • You have conviction and a foundation: a concept, maybe a build, and a problem that belongs to you.
  • You are coachable and will change course on evidence without losing yourself.
  • But you do not yet have a continuous customer loop, validated willingness to pay, or a clean data room.
  • Your momentum comes in bursts, not on a durable cadence.

How placement works

The application measures you across Foundry's investor-grade markers. The Builder requires the Behavioral Mechanics markers, held with proof, and is the right start when Commercial Execution is still ahead of you.

Already have real traction, revenue, and a data room? You may be placed into The Sovereign. Still building the identity and foundation? The Seeker is the deeper start.

Every tier ends at the same certificate. The Builder gives you the thirty weeks to earn it in full.

What you build

Thirty weeks: fifteen to build the machine, fifteen to reach fundable.

You begin at Builder, where a real venture takes shape, then run straight into the Sovereign summit. The first fifteen weeks are three movements that turn conviction into commercial traction an investor can see.

Movement I · Weeks 1 to 5

Truth from the Market

Stop guessing, start hearing.
The one metric
Choose the single number that moves the company; kill the vanity dashboards.
Customer closeness
Build a continuous user loop; know your top ten customers' exact pains by heart.
Real demand
Run a formal demand test; seek disconfirmation, not applause.
Iteration discipline
Ship a full cycle in days, and kill a feature you love.
Product taste
A friction and quality audit; raise the bar on what ships.
Movement II · Weeks 6 to 10

Traction and Revenue

Charge, distribute, prove.
Speed to revenue
Charge a real customer; validate true willingness to pay, early.
GTM resourcefulness
Acquire users through a creative, low-cost channel, with no paid-ad burn.
Design partners
Land an alpha customer or design partner, and run the relationship.
Pricing and monetization
Structure pricing and the model; own your unit economics.
The traction story
Tell the traction narrative in public; your founder's voice emerges.
Movement III · Weeks 11 to 15

The Machine and the Team

Build what an investor can inspect. Ends at the Momentum Gate.
Runway and burn
Build the cash-flow and burn model; own the numbers, do not fear them.
The data room begins
Start a clean, current data room; it is completed at the summit.
First key hires
Make or define the first key hire; become someone worth joining.
Mentors and the pod
The matched mentor and the pod at full cadence, pressure-testing weekly.
Pivot or persevere, the Momentum Gate
The mid-journey Velocity checkpoint: on evidence, commit or pivot, then graduate.

Then the summit: Sovereign, weeks 16 to 30

With Categories 1 and 2 in hand, you run the same fifteen-week summit The Sovereign runs: the fundable narrative, the raise, the boardroom, exit optionality, and the certificate gate. Same finish, earned in full.

Who you are when you finish

Commercial traction that is real, then a founder investors back.

The Builder takes you through two of the three investor-grade dimensions on top of the behavioral base you arrived with: Commercial Execution and Velocity, then Capital Trajectory and Narrative Control. By the end you hold all the markers the certificate certifies.

Customer obsession
A continuous loop with the people you serve.
Ruthless prioritization
One metric that decides the business, owned.
Speed to revenue
Real willingness to pay, validated early.
Operational transparency
A clean data room, model, and cap table.
Product velocity
A release cadence that proves execution.
The full Capital Trajectory set
Vision, fundraising urgency, allocation, equity hygiene, and updates, at the summit.

And the same finish as every tier: the Foundry certificate, conferred by Ethan Starke on demonstrated execution, not attendance.

You have the fire. Come build the venture around it.

Start with a conversation, or go straight to the application when it opens. Either way, placement is decided on evidence.

One method, one bench, one monthly rhythm. You are placed by readiness, not by price.
