The summit tier

The Sovereign

15 weeks · Sovereign

For the founder who already has the foundation and the scars. You do not need to be taught what a SAFE is or how to talk to a customer. You come for the summit, raising well, boards, expansion, exit optionality, and the Foundry certificate that says you were built, not just advised.

What places you here

The Sovereign is earned, not chosen.

Your placement is decided by the application, on evidence, not by which tier you would prefer. The Sovereign is for founders who can already demonstrate the two things this stage assumes: the behavioral mechanics of a high-agency founder, and real commercial execution.

  • You iterate in days, speak in precise metrics, and take hard pushback as a free optimization.
  • You hold a specific, non-obvious insight about your space from your own primary research.
  • You have real customers and can recite their exact pains from memory.
  • Money has changed hands, or you have a clean, current data room and model an investor could open tomorrow.
  • You ship on a consistent cadence and you own your one metric.
  • You have run foundation and growth already, in this venture or a prior one.

How placement works

The application measures you across Foundry's investor-grade markers. The Sovereign requires that you already demonstrate the Behavioral Mechanics and Commercial Execution markers, with proof.

If the foundation or the commercial traction is not yet built, you will be placed into The Builder or The Seeker instead, and you will be the stronger for it. Misplacing a founder too high sets them up to fail the summit.

Everyone reaches the same certificate. The Sovereign simply starts closest to it.

What you build

Fifteen weeks, three movements, one fundable founder.

This is the Sovereign stage, the summit every Foundry tier converges on. It is not a Demo-Day prep course. It is the founder becoming undeniable at the highest-stakes moments, on the record, in their own venture.

Movement I · Weeks 1 to 5

The Case

Make the founder fundable in story and on paper.
The venture-scale narrative
The one logical roadmap from a niche wedge to a multi-billion-dollar market, then defended out loud.
Clean equity hygiene
A clean, current cap table, founder vesting, and every predatory early term named and fixed.
The data room
A room you would be proud to open to a partner tomorrow: model, cap table, legal, key documents.
Strategic allocation
Every dollar of the raise mapped to the exact metrics it buys for the next round.
Macro fluency
Your sector's macro and rate thesis, and how it moves your valuation, in your own words.
Movement II · Weeks 6 to 10

The Process

Run the raise like an investor-grade founder.
Command of the room
Deliver the narrative live to a hostile panel and stay clear under fire.
Fundraising urgency
A tight, time-boxed raise that forces decisions in days, and the target investor list, with dates.
Being sought
Generate real signal so investors come to you; warm the network before you need it.
Running the round
Coordinate investors and choose the right partner, not the biggest check.
Enterprise and scale
Advance a real enterprise or design-partner deal; sharpen executive presence.
Movement III · Weeks 11 to 15

The Durable Company

Build what an investor can inspect, then graduate.
The talent engine
A hiring engine and employer brand that pull overqualified people toward you.
The boardroom
Stand up governance and learn to lead a board rather than fear it.
New markets and exit optionality
An expansion framework, and reading strategic interest early without being distracted by it.
The investor-update discipline
The monthly update, wins, losses, and explicit asks, instituted for real.
The conviction demo & certificate gate
The full investor-grade case, and the 30-Day Velocity Test that runs the final month into the gate. The certificate is conferred on evidence, not attendance.
Who you are when you finish

A founder investors seek, with the mark to prove it.

The Sovereign certifies the third and final dimension of an investor-grade founder, Capital Trajectory and Narrative Control, built on the behavioral and commercial mastery you arrived with. These are the markers an investor observes as a result.

Venture-scale vision
A defensible line from a niche wedge to an enormous market.
Fundraising urgency
A coordinated raise that forces decisions in days, not months.
Strategic allocation
Exactly how every dollar buys the metrics for the next round.
Clean equity hygiene
A clean cap table and vesting, no predatory terms.
Macro awareness
How rates and the cycle price your company.
Consistent investor updates
Concise monthly reports with real asks.

And the pedigree: the Foundry certificate, conferred by Ethan Starke on demonstrated execution, that says this founder was built, not merely advised.

You have the traction. Come earn the summit.

Start with a conversation, or go straight to the application when it opens. Either way, placement is decided on evidence.

One method, one bench, one monthly rhythm. You are placed by readiness, not by price.
